Jo’s group keyboard lessons are friendly, fun, inclusive and child centred with a unique, varied and ever evolving repertoire of tunes, resources and games developed over 20 years of teaching in both mainstream and special educational needs schools.
Jo has inspired hundreds if not thousands of children over her many years of teaching with her infectious enthusiasm and inexhaustible passion for sharing the joy of playing music.
She is a kind, sensitive and patient teacher who knows just how to nurture the enthusiasm and self-confidence in her pupils needed to set them on the journey towards a fulfilling and life-long engagement with music. For a list of schools and organisations see below.
Children who learn the keyboard with Jo, develop their musical creativity and self-expression, learn to read music, understand harmony, improvise and play by ear. They will also have the opportunity to celebrate and share their musical progress and achievement with regular performances in school. In addition, children are provided with their very own music book every term and are given access to awesome videos made by Jo to support their playing and learning at home.
“Jo is absolutely brilliant – she has a huge range of skills and techniques and knowledge up her sleeves, she’s friendly and enthusiastic and encouraging…”

Learning an instrument has been proven beneficial especially during childhood whilst the brain is still in the critical stages of development.
Playing a musical instrument enhances brain cell activity, improving memory and abstract reasoning, skills which are essential for subjects like science and mathematics. Playing an instrument also gives a child an outlet to express their creativity and emotions and is a skill they can continue to develop throughout life.
